The Bump Under The Rug

Every day David would see the house where the old man lived at and people say that the old man never leaves his house because his grandchildren were murdered at his house while the old man was at the senior home.  When the old man was staying at the house he could hear screams, see shadows of his grandchildren.  One day David went to investigate the old man’s house while the old man was sleeping so he gets in the house.  Then he could hear voices in the house and he sees a shadow, but it was just the old man waking up and going downstairs.  When the old man saw David he said, “get the hell out of my house.”

David run as fast as he can back to his house.  After that David had goosebumps and was shivering because he was afraid of the man and it was pouring outside when he was running. Ever since the old man told David to get out of his house, David has never been there for three months.  Until David came back and went to look through the window and he saw the old man with a chair in his hands waiting to strike the bump under the rug.  The bump was nibbling on the power cord that turns on the lamp and the old man was furious that whatever the bump was is destroying his favorite lamp.

David got a little closer and he saw the bump was moving out of the rug and the bump was a cat.  The cat tried to escape out to the front door, but it was locked so the old man kills the cat. After that the old man sees David again and he says, “hey I recognize you, you’re the kid that broke into my house three months ago.  You have seen too much I am going to kill you.”  The old man having evil laughs while the old man was laughing David went to the police department and he says, “police you have to believe me there is crazy old man at his haunted house right by my house.  He is going to try to kill me so can you please help me solve the problem.”
The police came in the old man’s house and they find the old man.  They sent him to jail for at least 10 years for threatening to kill people and when the old man went in the police car to go to jail.  Before he got in he threaten David again when he saw him and the words he said to David were “I’m coming for you.”

Favorite Short Story

My favorite short story is called The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe.  This short story is about a guy that doesn't like the old man's eye so he kills the old man and after he can hear the old man's heart beat even though the old man was dead.http://poestories.com/read/telltaleheart
